Nylon is a synthetic polymer generally known as polyamide. It was invented and first produced by DuPont in February 1935. Allplastics offer a wide range of Nylon grades including cast and extruded Nylon 6 and Nylon 66 used for all kinds of mechanical parts as well as molybdenum or oil filled Nylons which increase lubricity. The basic features of all Nylon grades are their high strength, rigidity and toughness, excellent chemical resistance and processability. However it is hygroscopic (absorbs moisture).
