Allplastics supplies and assists High school students with a variety of materials and services for their major HSC artworks in design and technology projects.
Melanie Altit approached Allplastics with a requirement for black acrylic panels and advice for gluing.
"The brief I created was to design and construct a storage unit for make-up artist and hairdressers to neatly and effectively store and easily transport beauty products" said Mel.
"My major design project can also be used for storage of any item if need be. Although its main intention is to provide portability and functionality for the beauty industry, it is also possible to utilise it for a host of other hardware to craft specialties" added Mel.
"The materials that Allplastics supplied and solvent glue were the perfect fit (the solvent adhesive was a lifesaver) I really appreciate their assistance" said Mel.
Mel's major artwork was selected to appear in the DesignTECH exhibition located in the Powerhouse Museum and around regional galleries in New South Wales.
DesignTECH is a showcase of extemporary HSC project in the design and technology subject across the entire state.
3200 people sat for the subject, 150 people were nominated and Mel Altit's project was one of the 22 who had their major design project showcase for Australia to see.
