The presentation of valuable artefacts and ancient books at exhibitions requires the organisers to display them in a manner that is easy for the visitors to view yet prevent them from touching papers which can result in degradation of ancient papers. Recently the Allplastics fabrication team crafted a range of clear acrylic showcases which displayed and protected many historic books and Bibles in the foyer of the New South Wales Parliament. The exhibition marked the 350th anniversary of the printing of the first Armenian Bible in Amsterdam in 1666-1668 and was hosted by the premier of New South Wales the Honourable Gladys Berejiklian in the theatrette of the oldest parliament in Australia.
The organisers of the event were the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Australia and the Hamazkayin Cultural and Educational Society of Australia, who had invited the director of the
National Library of Armenia to speak about the evolution of the printing of the first Armenian Bible and showcase some valuable printed books from the 17th to the 19th century.
The books were closely viewed by many invited guests and the acrylic displays attracted a lot of positive comments from visitors and organisers.
