Opal Acrylic Shelves Make for a Brilliant Product Showcase
About a year ago, Allplastics designed and fabricated a display for Precision Golf, to help them showcase their high-end brand golf supplies. Their goal was a light weight wall-mountable display unit with a sports performance feel to it. As a high-end retailer, their display should have a hint of luxury, whilst remaining simple and minimalistic enough not to draw the attention away from the products.
We decided to use opal acrylic as our medium for building the shelves. When combined with a radiant light source, opal acrylic takes on vibrant characteristics. Here you can see those characteristics on display at Precision Golf, illuminated by a series of blue LED lights.
Our team at Allplastics fabricated this unit out of 10mm thick opal acrylic, fitting it with grooves to match the LED strip we would be using, custom made to perfectly fit the retailer’s allocated space.
